Save Thelma & Louise

120cmx50cm

I chose a scene from a movie and added my own twist. The shot I selected is the film’s final moment, in which Thelma and Louise are lifted by the balloons I added. This is an ironic nod to the Disney ‘happy endings’ that generations have grown up with.

In reality, the film is a tragedy much like life itself, but I wanted to playfully turn a blind eye to that by introducing innocent, colorful balloons that carry the car above the Grand Canyon, suggesting that, at least for a moment, everything might be okay.

The frame format is custom-made at 16×9, the standard movie screen ratio, to further immerse the viewer in the cinematic experience
